Marvin the Paranoid Tutebot...

Marvin was Ann's and my final project for EECS 43, Introductory Electronics Laboratory, during the Fall 1998 semester at Berkeley's EECS department. These pictures are about 20K; you can click on them to get really mind-bogglingly huge, pretty versions (suitable for printing out on your nearest expensive color printer) at 10 times the waste of bandwidth.
<brg> i think i'm going to take my car out to the hall and play with it!
<lila> that... sounds wrong..
<lila> have you named it?
<brg> yes
<brg> its name is Marvin
<brg> after Marvin the Paranoid Android, of course
<lila> geordan> marvin the paranoid tutebot?
<brg> it was actually my partner's idea to name it.
<brg> yes
<lila> geordan> "Reverse gear, Marvin," that's what they tell me. "Don't hit the wall, Marvin. Marvin, can you move forward?" Can I move forward! Here I am, brain the size of a 6502, and they ask me...
<brg> *LOL*

Marvin in perspective; you can
see how big he is(n't).

Marvin's left side.

Marvin's right side.

A (hungry) bird's-eye view
of Marvin.

Marvin rearing up on his
hind legs, er, I mean, wheels.

Marvin poses with his proud creators,
Ann Hsueh and Brian Gaeke.

A not-quite-so-happy shot of
Marvin's creators.
