  • 15/Feb Postgresql has been removed. Additionally, kerberos has been uninstalled and mutt has been upgraded to 1.5.3. SSL (including IMAP) now supports AES. OpenSSH has been upgraded to 3.5p1.
  • 10/Mar Power outage at hosting company; prisoner was down in the PM.
  • 20/Jul We're going to upgrade Prisoner to FreeBSD 5.1-RELEASE. This will probably happen around Wednesday of this week. Prisoner will change IP addresses. There may be some downtime involved, but I'm hoping to keep that to a minimum.
  • 14/Aug Prisoner will be upgrading to 4.8-RELEASE instead. The system is currently online as new-prisoner.dgate.org, but I wouldn't go there yet, if I were you.
  • 17/Aug New prisoner IP addr is 69.55.238.156. The system is ready for testing. This machine will remain available as old-prisoner.dgate.org for a short while.
  • 27/Aug If you want to block viruses, here's how. I've installed the demo version of McAfee VirusScan for FreeBSD on here. Check out the perl script /users/brg/bin/mailscanner for a script you can easily rig up in your .procmailrc to block Sobig or whatever viruses you are worried about.

  • 14/Jul New notices file started. The server is still being set up.
  • 17/Jul Please log into this machine now instead of sartre. Sartre will continue to be up for a little while, but no further rsyncs will be done to copy sartre files over to prisoner except by special request.
  • 21/Aug Some ports were upgraded, and the webserver ssl cert was fixed.
  • 30/Aug If you were having trouble with webmail you can now add the DGate CA into your browser manually, by going to www.dgate.org/cert
  • 14/Oct I changed the default local timezone for prisoner to Central time.
  • 27/Oct I deleted some pkgs to save disk space: BitchX, drac, the old ssh2, help2man, links, mysql-client, sed_inplace, and tiff. If anyone really wants any of these, please holler.
